The Ensemble for the Romantic Century has announced casting for its upcoming production of Van Gogh’s Ear, a theatrical concert that uses Van Gogh’s own words to pain a picture of the artist as more than just his artwork. Leading the cast will be Carter Hudson (FX’s Snowfall, The Effect Off-Broadway) along with Renée Tatum (Parsifal at The Metropolitan Opera), Chad Johnson (Silent Night at Michigan Opera Theatre), and Kevin Spirtas (Days of Our Lives).
Written by ERC Executive Artistic Director Eve Wolf, Van Gogh’s Ear will be directed by Donald T. Sanders. The production, which kicks off ERC’s 17th season, will be staged at the The Pershing Square Signature Center.
Performances begin August 10 ahead of an August 17 opening. The limited engagement will run through September 10.
Van Gogh’s Ear will feature scenic and costume design by Vanessa James with lighting design by Beverly Emmons, and projection design by David Bengali.
Live chamber music will be performed by Henry Wang (violin), Yuval Herz (violin), Chieh-Fan Yiu (viola), Timotheos Petrin (cello), joined by ERC Co-Artistic Director Max Barros (piano) and Renana Gutman (piano).
Performances for Van Gogh's Ear will be in at The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center. For tickets and more information, visit RomanticCentury.org.
