Mexican play Bajo las Sabanas (Under the Sheets) by Mauricio Pichardo will open July 17 at the Teatro Hidalgo in Mexico City.
Juan Soler and Monika Sanchez are the stars of Bajo las Sabanas, a play that explores the relationship of a modern young couple, their love, infidelities, disaffections, jealous times and happy times.
Soler and Sanchez are two of the most popular stars in Mexico, they have been featured in several soap-operas, most recently they both starred "Pueblo Chico, Infierno Grande," a soap-opera that is aired nightly in Mexico´s channel 2.
Elizabeth Arciniega and Cecilia Conteras complete the cast of this interesting play, which is directed by Benjamin Caan, who is a very well-known theatre, film and T.V. director in Mexico.
The show is produced by Ruben Lara, who is also preparing a Mexican revival of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, scheduled to open late 1997. Bajo las Sabanas will have a limited 7-week run in Mexico City and then it will be presented in Mexico´s most important cities.
