LOS ANGELES -- "Solo '99," the second annual one-person show festival, kicks off Jan. 7, 1999 at 2100 Square Feet. Nine artists will perform solo pieces in a two-week period, with shows ranging from stand-up to drama to dance.
The gala opening night party will include a light buffet, a lobby exhibit of a retrospective look at the one-person play and a sampling of performances from the festival, followed by dessert.
Among the performance artists taking part in Solo '99 are Haynes Brooks (i>Art Explained; Celia Fox (L.A. UNDERground; Tracy Pulliam (Hot-Wired Highways); and Martin Lewis (Great Expectations.
The Sunday matinees feature dance solos.
