Paul Kreppel currently stars in the New York production, while creator Steve Solomon continues to tour the show throughout the U.S. In a statement creator Solomon said, "500 performances? Who would have thought it? When we came to New York, the plan was to stay for three months before taking the show on the road. But the audiences just coming back and bringing their families with them. So now here we are, nearly a year and a half later. Paul Kreppel is bringing down the house nightly at the Westside Theatre playing the various members of my extended family."
Kreppel added, "I think this show has continued to run as long as it has because Steve has created such a funny and universal show. Whether they are Jewish, Italian, a regular therapy-goer or not, this show makes people feel good. As long as there are theatregoers with crazy families out there, this show will continue to entertain and touch its audiences."
Italian + Jewish = Therapy, according to press notes, "relates to the wacky side of the human condition, combining comic voices, sound effects and astounding characters — bringing alive a myriad of people from all walks of life."
Show times are Tuesdays at 7 PM, Wednesdays-Saturdays at 8 PM with matinees Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 3 PM.
