News Some Couples May…, a Play About Infertility, Gets Michigan World Premiere Purple Rose Theatre, the Michigan Equity theatre devoted to new works by resident writers, will present the world premiere of Carey Crim's bittersweet comedy Some Couples May… March 24-May 28.

The play, according to PRTC notes, "charts one woman's journey with her family through the challenges and heartbreak of infertility to the promise of motherhood." Some Couples May... contains strong language and sexual situations.

Opening night is April 1. Purple Rose artistic director Guy Sanville directs a cast that include Alex Leydenfrost, Michelle Mountain, Aphrodite Nikolovski, Jim Porterfield, Jan Radcliff, Rhiannon Ragland and Bill Simmons.

The creative team includes set designer Vincent Mountain, properties designer Danna Segrest, costume designer Christianne Myers, lighting designer Dana White and sound designer Quintessa Gallinat. Stephanie Buck stage manages.

Some Couples May… is the third play of Crim's to world-premiere at Purple Rose (after Wake and Growing Pretty), the company that native Jeff Daniels founded in his hometown of Chelsea, MI, 60 miles west of Detroit. The PRTC mission is to produce new American plays and create opportunities for Midwest theatre professionals.
