News Some Seats Available for One Enchanted Evening Concert — with Maureen McGovern — April 11 A few seats are still available for Maureen McGovern's April 11 concert to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Entitled One Enchanted Evening, the 9 PM concert with the star of the new musical Little Women will be held at Birdland on West 44th Street. Presented by R/J Productions, the one-night-only event will also feature McGovern's musical director, Jeff Harris, on piano.

Concertgoers can expect the talented chanteuse to wrap her rangy alto around such tunes as "This Nearly Was Mine," "It Never Entered My Mind" and her signature tune, "The Morning After."

McGovern, who devotes a considerable amount of her time to charity work, said in a recent statement, "I have always been tremendously moved and impressed by the determined and very heartfelt efforts of Broadway Care/Equity Fights AIDS. As a member of New York’s performing arts community and a firm believer in BC/EFA’s very important mission, I am delighted to give the gift of song on this very enchanted evening to help such a worthwhile cause." McGovern is also the founder of the Maureen McGovern "Works of Heart" Foundation for Music and Healing, and she is the Artistic Spokesperson for The American Music Therapy Association. She has also been actively involved with the Muscular Dystrophy Association for the past 25 years.

Maureen McGovern's performing credits are numerous and varied. She appeared on Broadway in Nine, The Pirates of Penzance and The Threepenny Opera, and her many recordings include the Grammy nominated "The Pleasure of His Company" and the Academy Award-winning song "The Morning After." She was also seen in the films "The Towering Inferno," "Airplane!" and "The Cure for Boredom," and she appeared at the Sundance Theatre in The Umbrellas of Cherbourg and Jerry Herman's Dear World.

Tickets are priced $25 (general admission seating at the bar), $60 (reserved table seating) and $500 (two VIP seats, two house seats for Little Women, an autographed Little Women CD and a private meet-and greet with McGovern following a Little Women performance).
