Ebersole and Broadway orchestrator/arranger/musical director Lawrence Yurman will work in partnership to record a new piano-and-voice album, "Christine Ebersole Sings Noël Coward," to be independently produced by the actress' Staunch Records. Ebersole's Staunch Productions was a producer of the Broadway production of Grey Gardens, for which the actress won her second Tony Award (following a 42nd Street win). Ebersole and Yurman worked together when he was music director for Grey Gardens.

The disc (with Yurman at the piano) will be fast-tracked so it can be sold in the lobby of the Shubert Theatre, where Ebersole stars as the diaphanous-gowned, ghostly Elvira in Coward's comedy.

Ebersole and Yurman teamed to record the musical interludes currently played between scenes in the Broadway revival. The album — with a tracklist to be announced — will include expanded versions of some of those songs, as well as additional Coward tunes. "I'll See You Again" is among the Coward numbers heard at the Shubert, along with his "Someday I'll Find You," "Something Very Strange," "You Were There," "It's Only Me" and "Why Does Love Get in the Way?" Expect an all-Coward album; Irving Berlin's "Always" (which is in the show) won't be included.

No date for the Shubert lobby release has been set. Given Ebersole's reputation in the theatre and cabaret world, it would be surprising if a record label didn't snatch up the indie recording for wider release.
