Daniel Sullivan will direct the Broadway staging of the 1995 play about a married couple and their beloved dog Sylvia (who can talk to the audience), which will also star Robert Sella (Stuff Happens, Sleepy Hollow, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang).
The design team will include two more 2015 Tony nominees, set designer David Rockwell (You Can’t Take It With You and On the Twentieth Century) and lighting designer Japhy Weideman (The Visit and Airline Highway) and, doing costumes, Oscar winner Ann Roth.
Previews are scheduled to begin Sept. 25 at a Shubert theatre to be announced.
Sylvia will be produced by Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel and Daryl Roth.
The original 1995 production starred Sarah Jessica Parker (as Sylvia), Blythe Danner and Charles Kimbrough, and ran 167 performances at Manhattan Theatre Club's Stage I.
