News Sondheim and Rich Discuss A Life in the Theater Jan. 18 Tony Award-winning musical theatre composer-lyricist Stephen Sondheim, most recently represented Off-Broadway with the new musical Road Show, will take part in an evening at Avery Fisher Hall Jan. 18.

Entitled Stephen Sondheim: A Life in the Theater, the one-night-only event features Sondheim and former New York Times theatre critic Frank Rich. Show time is 8 PM. Sondheim and Rich, according to a press statement, "will engage in a live, unscripted conversation, reminiscing about Stephen Sondheim's career, legendary collaborations, inspirations, and rich theatrical and cinematic resumé."

Stephen Sondheim, who penned the lyrics for Gypsy and West Side Story, is the award-winning composer-lyricist of Road Show, A Little Night Music, Into the Woods, Follies, Sweeney Todd, Merrily We Roll Along, Anyone Can Whistle, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Sunday in the Park with George, Assassins, Company and Passion, among others.
