National Public Radio (NPR) will celebrate Richard Rodgers' Centenary on June 28 with the new documentary "Easy to Remember."

Celebrating one of the most popular composer's of the American theatre, "Easy to Remember" will feature interviews with the late choreographer Agnes de Mille, Broadway and film star John Raitt, the late Broadway icon Mary Martin, composer Stephen Sondheim, lyricist Sheldon Harnick and Rodgers' two daughter, Mary and Linda. Hosted by NPR correspondent Susan Stamberg, the hour-long program will also include music from cast albums and soundtracks as well as rare archival audio of Rodgers himself. "Easy to Remember" will air in the New York area on WNYC FM (93.9) at 7 PM.

The Rodgers documentary will be followed by a repeat broadcast of the 1993 program about the making of the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, Oklahoma!. Hosted by singer-actress Shirley Jones, this documentary boasts interviews with Agnes de Mille, Celeste Holm, Joan Roberts and Stephen Sondheim.

During his lifetime, Richard Rodgers penned over 900 songs. His partnerships with Lorenz Hart and later with Oscar Hammerstein II produced some of the most successful musicals in Broadway history. His works with Hart included On Your Toes, Babes in Arms, I Married an Angel, The Boys from Syracuse, Pal Joey and By Jupiter, and the Rodgers-Hammerstein collaboration spawned Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I, Flower Drum Song and The Sound of Music. The hit revival of Oklahoma! currently plays Broadway's Gershwin Theatre.
