Denise Di Renzo will feature songs from her Openheart Records CD, "Sweet Refrain" during her four-show cabaret engagement at Judy's Chelsea, Feb. 24, 26, 28 and March 4.
Commenting on Di Renzo's mix of "original material, jazz/pop standards and Broadway tunes," Gregory Hines said "Denise sings with an intimacy that pulls you into a place where it's just you and her. And what a beautiful place it is. Bravo!"
Having performed in the Broadway productions of Cats, A Chorus Line 42nd Street and Sophisticated Ladies, Di Renza's club credits include runs at The Village Gate, 88's, Don't Tell Mama's, Rainbow & Stars (with David Friedman) and at The Laurie Beechman Theater at West Bank Cafe.
Di Renza is scheduled to play Judy's Chelsea with musical director/pianist Dave Brunetti, guitarist Ken Sebesky, percussionist John Clancy, bassist Steve LaSpina and horns and woodwinds by Ken Dybisz. Scott Barnes directs the show.
