News Songs from New Musical Piece Previewed at Duplex Jan. 7 and 14 Up and coming composer-lyricist Scott Alan will be featured at the Duplex Cabaret Theater this month.

Alan, who penned the musical Detour, will be joined by a host of singers at the New York cabaret on Jan. 7 and 14. Performing works from Detour and his new musical Piece will be gospel recording artist Jill Zadeh, Sarah Plain and Tall's Kate Wetherhead as well as Courtney Balan, Lauren Thomas, Peter Previti and Zakiya Young. Show time is 9 PM. Alan, a cousin of Dream True's Ricky Ian Gordon, will accompany the singers and perform some of his works. Piece musical director Randy Cohen will also be featured at the piano.

The Duplex Cabaret Theater is located at 61 Christopher Street. There is a $12 cover and a two-drink minimum; call (212) 255-5438 for reservations.
