PlayBlog Songwriters Burkell & Loesel Launch Website; "Moms" Make Cameos Lyricist Scott Burkell and composer Paul Loesel, the Jonathan Larson Grant winners whose musical The Extraordinary Ordinary is being prepped for an Off-Broadway life in the fall, have launched a website to bang the drum about their songs and musicals.

As previously reported on Playbill.com, the writers recently revised their modern-relationships musical Six of One as The Extraordinary Ordinary, and their musical Ella Minnow Pea, based on the novel of the same name, got a 2008 developmental production in the University of Michigan's influential musical theatre program. Work on it continues.

Their songs have been recorded by Broadway's Stephanie J. Block, Marin Mazzie, Jason Danieley and Rebecca Luker. The Michigan natives added a special surprise on their new site: Their "Cyber Moms" coo about their work in video segments. The matriarchs (in haus frau garb) are played by Becky Ann Baker (Paul's "mom") and Nancy Hume (as Scott's "mom").
