Recent plays by author Susan Sontag and poet Naomi Wallace will be performed in repertory during April at American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, MA.Wallace's Slaughter City, which recently opened at the Royal Shakespeare Company in London, will begin performances March 28. It will be joined April 11 by Alice in Bed, the first play by Sontag. The two will then run in repertory with the same cast at the Hasty Pudding Theatre in Harvard Square.

Wallace's play examines issues of race, gender and time in the world of a slaughterhouse. Sontag's play starts with the invalid sister of authors William and Henry James, and takes her into an Alice in Wonderland fantasy populated by Emily Dickenson, Margaret Fuller and other gifted women of the 19th century.
