The repertoire for the tour includes arias and songs by Vivaldi, Handel, Donizetti, Gounod, Copland, Johann Strauss, and Verdi, as well as traditional songs from Jo's native Korea.
Born in Seoul in 1962, Jo studied at the Academia di Santa Cecilia in Rome. She debuted as Gilda in Rigoletto in Trieste. Her many roles also include the Queen of the Night in Die Zauberfl‹te, Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, Amina in La Sonnambula, Norina in Don Pasquale, and the title role of Lucia du Lammermoor.
Her 48 recordings include a Grammy-winning version of Die Frau ohne Schatten and the pop album Only Love, which has sold a record 700,000 copies in Korea.
