Daedulus, David Davalos' comic reimagining of genius Leonardo Da Vinci's life under Borgia and Machivelli, gets a reading March 11 at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, CA.

Art Manke directs. In the play, Leonardo Da Vinci is a scientific military advisor who designs weapons for Cesare Borgia's conquest, but his past career as a painter is haunting him in his new life as an engineer.

Davalos is best known for his thriller, Darkfall, which places a New York couple in the middle of a cosmic battle between God and Satan as played out in an American corporation. Other credits include Johnnius Caerson and Little Richard: A Play About a Stump.
