News South Coast Rep's Adult Conservatory Gears Up for Summer 2000 Registration is now open for South Coast Repertory's Adult Conservatory, which begins its summer session on June 26. The acting classes meet Monday through Thursday evenings for nine weeks; tuition is $255. The classes are designed for the career-minded as well as those interested in personal growth and development. Conservatory director Karen Hensel said, "Our curriculum is developed so that serious students will be able to advance their training with professional instructors. However, we have an appropriate beginning level for those who wish to develop communication skills or just overcome shyness."

However, we have an appropriate beginning level for those who wish to develop communication skills or just overcome shyness."In related news, the SCR also announced that auditions for its Professional Conservatory, an eight-week summer training program for acting students, will be held daily from 10 AM-6 PM, June 9 through July 29. The classes will coincide with SCR's 3rd Annual Pacific Playwrights Festival of new plays by emerging and established American writers. PC students will be invited to attend the Festival's seven staged readings. Tuition for the program is $2050.
