News Southern Rep Season Kicks Off Jan. 9 With Venus in Fur; Next to Normal and Premiere of Mold to Follow Southern Rep's 2013 season kicks off Jan. 9 in New Orleans. The lineup includes the Tony Award-nominated works Venus in Fur and Next to Normal.

David Ives' Venus in Fur, which was seen on Broadway last season with Tony winner Nina Arianda, kicks off the company's season Jan. 9. Directed by Aimée Hayes, the limited engagement continues through Jan. 24.

Following Venus in Fur will be the world premiere of John Biguenet's Mold, the final play of the Rising Water Trilogy—about the flooding of New Orleans and its aftermath—which will run March 20-April 14 under the direction of Mark Routhier.

Hayes will also direct Next to Normal, the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical about a family dealing with mental illness, which will run May 15-June 9. The work, which will star Leslie Castay, features music by Tom Kitt with a book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey.

The company's Lagniappe Series includes Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, featuring John "Spud" McConnell (Nov. 23-Dec. 16); Steve Yockey's Wolves (Nov. 14-18 at the Den of Muses, Nov. 23-25 at the Shadowbox Theatre); Freedom by Sean Patterson, Joyce Pulitzer, David Seelig and Kitty Greenberg 
(July 10-28); and The Lily's Revenge, featuring a book, lyrics and concept by Taylor Mac 
with music by Rachelle Garniez (Oct. 18-21).
