The small musical Soy Fea (I Am Ugly), written and directed by Sergi Belbel (winner of the 1996 national literature prize) and Jordi Sanchez, comes to Madrid Mar. 27.

Soy Fea is a small musical totally different from the famous musicals it ridicules-- by way of placing microphones in the most visible places, poor set decoration and satiric dialogues (in the style of Forbidden Broadway). Soy Fea was the musical most seen during Barcelona's Grec Festival (the most popular theater festival in the city), and tells the story of a woman who is ugly and tries to overcome that problem.

Cast members are Monica Glaenzel as "the ugly one", Joel Joan as "the handsome one" (winner of Barcelona's special critic prize), Maria Lanau and author Jordi Sanchez.

The music is by Oscar Roig, who is also the musical director. All the artists belong to the Krampack Company, which was born in 1994 with a play titled Krampack, from which the young company great prestige.

This play will run at Madrid's New Apollo Theater, owned by the Focus enterprise, where many great musicals have run, including West Side Story, Les Miserables, et. al. Soy Fea runs at Teatro Nuevo Apolo. 1, Tirso de Molina Street. Madrid. Subway Station:Tirso de Molina. Tue. to Thu. at 10 PM . Fri. at 10:30 PM, Sat. at 6:30 and 10:30 PM and Sun. at 6:30 PM.
