News   Sparks and Canavan Join Cast of Off-Broadway Bug June 8
Bug, the nervy Off-Broadway Tracy Letts play, will welcome two new cast members on June 8. Paul Sparks will replace Michael Shannon in the role of Peter, and Michael Canavan will assume the part of Dr. Sweet, now played by Allyn Burrows, who himself followed original cast member Reed Birney on April 24.

Birney left to act in Tony Kushner's Homebody/Kabul at BAM. Dee Pellitier, meanwhile, stepped in for Amy Landecker on April 27.

Still left from the original cast are Shannon Cochran and Michael Cullen. Dexter Bullard directs.

The show began on Feb. 26 at the Barrow Street Theatre. The open-ended run received some of the best reviews of the season and went on to collect four Lucille Lortel Awards including Best Play and Best Direction and OBIE Awards for both the Ensemble and the Design Team.

Scott Morfee's co-produces with Amy Danis and Mark Johannes.
