Justin Waldman stages the production, which runs July 22-Aug. 2 on the Nikos Stage. "After 27 years on the same soap opera, Ada is starting to confuse her art and her life," according to press notes. "But after so many years of acting, her art is her life. Noah Haidle's poignant comedy brings us the hilarity of day-time drama alongside the harsher, but often equally funny, realities of life."

What is the Cause of Thunder? will have set design by Alexander Dodge, costume design by Nikki Moody, lighting design by Jeff Croiter and sound design and original music by Fitz Patton.

Williamstown has also announced that Paul Sparks (Hedda Gabler, Take Me Out) completes the cast of Sam Shepard's True West, which features the previously announced Nate Corddry, Stephen Kunken ("Taking Woodstock," Rock 'n' Roll) and Debra Jo Rupp (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, "That 70's Show"). Performances are July 15-26; Daniel Goldstein directs.

Tony winner John Rubenstein (Children of a Lesser God) has joined the cast of George Kelly's The Torch-Bearers, which runs July 29-Aug. 9. Dylan Baker directs a company that includes the previously announced Tony winners Marian Seldes (Deuce, Dinner at Eight) and Katie Finneran (Noises Off), as well as Tony nominee Dana Ivey (The Savannah Disputation, Butley), Jessica Hecht (Howard Katz, After the Fall), Emmy winner Edward Herrmann ("The Practice"), Yusef Bulos (Fiddler on the Roof), Phillip Goodwin (Tartuffe), Lizbeth MacKay (All My Sons), John Doherty and Becky Ann Baker (All My Sons).

Simon Gray's Quartermaine's Terms, directed by Maria Aitken (The 39 Steps), welcomes Ann Dowd (The Seagull, Doubt) to a cast that includes Tony winner Jefferson Mays (Journey's End, I Am My Own Wife), Simon Jones (Blithe Spirit), Jeremy Beck (Betrayed), Morgan Hallett (Translations), John Horton (A Touch of the Poet) and Stephen Kunken. Tony nominee Jayne Atkinson has withdrawn from the production; a replacement will be named shortly. Quertermaine runs Aug. 12-23. For more information on WTF, visit WilliamstownTheatreFestival.
