News Spelling Bee, Violet Hour and Private Lives Set for Barrington Season The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin's award-winning Broadway musical that was developed and then premiered at the Barrington Stage Company, will return to the Massachusetts theatre this year.

Spelling Bee will play the Barrington's Mainstage June 11-July 12. The 2008 season will also include Richard Greenberg's The Violet Hour, directed by Rob Ruggiero (July 17-Aug. 2); and Noel Coward's Private Lives, directed by Julianne Boyd and starring Christopher Innvar (Aug. 7-24).

The Barrington's Musical Theatre Lab, which is under the direction of Tony-winning composer Finn, will kick off its third season with Chris Miller and Nathan Tysen's The Mysteries of Harris Burdick. Inspired by Chris Van Allsburg's book, the musical, which will run June 18-July 5, features book and direction by Joe Calarco. Additional Musical Theatre Lab productions will be announced at a later date.

The Barrington Stage Company's Youth Theatre will present a new version of Seussical this summer. The Lynn Ahrens-Stephen Flaherty musical will run July 16-Aug. 17 and will feature direction and choreography by Christine O'Grady with musical direction by Brian Usifer.
