News Spelling Bee's Lisa Howard Will Be Part of B.R.A.T.T. CAMP Reading A by-invitation-only reading of the new musical B.R.A.T.T. CAMP — formerly titled B.R.A.T.S. — will be presented Oct. 8 in Manhattan.

Directed and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, the reading will feature the talents of Spelling Bee's Lisa Howard as well as Brad Bass, Kate Loprest, Robyn Elizabeth Lee, Brett Teresa, Ryan Weiss, Andy Merimontes, David Reiser and Jenn Furman.

B.R.A.T.T. CAMP was written by Bobby Cronin, the artistic director of Ergo Theatre Company. His other works include That's Andy and From This Day Forward.

The musical, according to press notes, follows "six troubled teens sent to a wilderness boot camp where personalities clash and truths become told."

Previous readings of the musical were presented in December 2006 in Chicago by the Porchlight Music Theatre and in June 2007 in Manhattan by the New York Theatre Barn.

Lisa Howard made her Broadway debut in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. She was seen in the national tour of Les Misérables — where she often performed the role of Madame Thenardier — and has also appeared in productions of Crazy for You, Cinderella, Das Barbecü, And the World Goes 'Round and Falsettos.
