In 2011 Empire State Building chiefs refused to go red and blue for the show's opening night because the Chrysler Building appears prominently in the production. An announcement from the Empire State Building chiefs regarding closing night has not been made.
As previously reported, following Spider-Man's Jan. 4 Broadway close, the musical has plans to fly into Las Vegas.
Spider-Man began previews Nov. 28, 2010, and officially opened June 14, 2011. The production was known for having the longest preview period of all time. The musical features a book by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and music and lyrics by Bono and The Edge.
Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark currently stars Robert Cuccioli (Jekyll & Hyde) as Norman Osborn/Green Goblin, Justin Matthew Sargent as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Rebecca Faulkenberry as Mary Jane Watson and Jason Gotay as Peter Parker/Spider-Man Alternate.
