The Broadway Show League pits the actors and staff of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows against one another each Thursday in a summer-long softball championship on Central Park ballfields in New York. Games are played at Heckscher Fields, near West 63rd St. and Central Park West.
The 30 teams of the 1996 Broadway Show League season have been winnowed down to the final two - The Shubert Organization and Local #1 - that will compete this Thursday August 22 for the championship crown. August 15th's semi-final games saw Local #1 defeating The Nederlander Organization 10-6, and The Shubert Organization handily beating Rent 15-6.
In consolation tournament play, Show Boat and Cowgirls emerged victorious in their respective semi-final matches to advance to the consolation final.
