News Spring Awakening's Eryn Murman Cast in New Play with Music, Canon in D Minor Casting has been announced for Jessica Liadsky's Canon in D Minor, a new play with music that will be presented Aug. 10-20 at La Mama’s First Floor Theatre as part of The New York International Fringe Festival-FringeNYC.

Produced by Emily Hammond and directed by Rachel Slaven, the cast will feature Suzy Jane Hunt (Stratford Shakespeare Festival's Twelfth Night), Eryn Murman (Broadway's Spring Awakening) and Brittany Parker (St. Ann's Warehouse's Stop the Virgens).

"After her best friend takes her own life in their final year of school, Beth searches for a way to forgive herself for what she might have done to prevent it," according to production notes. "She glides the bow of her violin through the music that connected them in this tender and stirring new play about friendship, forgiveness and the power of music to connect us."  

Canon in D Minor was developed and presented in 2005 at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. The Canadian premiere was presented in Toronto’s SummerWorks Theatre Festival in 2007. The 2012 New York International Fringe Festival production marks the play’s New York premiere.

Show times will be Aug. 10 at 7 PM, Aug. 11 at noon, Aug. 12 at 7 PM, Aug. 19 at 5:45 PM and Aug. 20 at 5 PM.
