News "Stage Beauty," "At Liberty," "Company," "Tony n' Tina" Featured at Tribeca FilmFest, May 1-9 Jeffrey Hatcher's stageplay-turned-Richard Eyre film "Stage Beauty" will close out the 2004 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City. Elaine Stritch's At Liberty, the original Broadway Company cast album documentary and the screen version of Off-Broadway's Tony n' Tina's Wedding are also part of the third annual fest, presented May 1-9.

Billy Crudup (The Elephant Man, "Almost Famous") stars in the Richard Eyre (Amy's View, Vincent in Brixton) screen adaptation of Jeffrey Hatcher's Compleat Female Stage Beauty, simply titled "Stage Beauty." The world premiere of the film — also starring Claire Danes, Rupert Everett, Ben Chaplin, Tom Wilkinson, Richard Griffiths and Zoe Potter — will debut as the festival's closer May 9.

Elaine Stritch and director D.A. Pennebaker collaborate on two films: "Elaine Stritch At Liberty" which combines the theatre legend's Tony Award-winning stageshow with behind-the-scenes footage and "Original Cast Album: Company" which chronicles the over 18-hour cast orginal album recording session for the Stephen Sondheim musical in which Stritch also starred. (The cult film is now on DVD.)

The Off-Broadway show recently announced its closing, but fans of the interactive Italian-American fanfare can witness the world premiere of the film adaptation, "Tony n' Tina's Wedding," at the downtown New York City filmfest. Roger Paradiso directs Joseph McIntyre (tick, Tick... BOOM!) and Mila Kunis ("That 70's Show") as the title newlyweds in the film which also stars Daisy Eagan, Priscilla Lopez, Richard Portnow and Mary Testa.

Stars of the recent Broadway revival of A View from the Bridge Anthony LaPaglia ("The Guys") and Allison Janney ("The West Wing") reunite onscreen in "Winter Solstice." The Josh Sternfeld movie, which will appear in the festival, also stars Ron Livingston and Aaron Stanford.

LAByrinth theatre company scribe Brett C. Leonard (Guinea Pig Solo) directs his feature film "Jailbait" which stars fellow LAB member Stephen Adly Guirgis (Our Lady of 121st Street) and Michael Pitt ("The Dreamers"). Also featured at the fest will be "Brother to Brother" starring Take Me Out star Daniel Sunjata. John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Inch) will take part in a panel discussion on "Sex & Cinema." And Richard Eyre, Jeffrey Hatcher, Billy Crudup and cast members of "Stage Beauty" will take part in a panel on the journey of the play to film, "Stage and Screen Beauty."
