Is it showbiz or psychotherapy? "Both!" said Dr. Stella Resnick, whose cabaret show PsyCafe with Dr. Stella Resnick has been running Wednesday evenings since April 28, with May 19 the last current date. However, a box office spokesperson told Playbill On-Line (May 17), "We like the show; we're definitely looking to extend it."

The show is performed Wednesday evenings only at the Masquer's Cabaret in West L.A. Curtain time is 7.30 PM.

Resnick, a psychologist and author, has built an enthusiastic following over the past three years hosting Talk Theatre in local venues. PsyCafe is a revised and refined version of that show.

"The objectives of this evening of meaningful entertainment are to have a good time while questioning our assumptions about relationships with an intelligent and articulate group of friends and strangers," said Resnick. "Two seats on stage are an open invitation for any individual couple, two friends or relatives, to come up and get a little free 'cafe therapy.' Audience participation is strictly voluntary."

Resnick is the author of "The Pleasure Zone: Why We Resist Good Feelings & How to Let Go and Be Happy." A psychologist in private practice, she has appeared on "Oprah," "Leeza" and "CNN Live." The Masquer's Cabaret is at 8334 W. 3rd St. Early arrivals can dine on Italian-Moroccan cuisine. Show tickets are $10 with a one-drink minimum. For reservations call (323) 653-4848. For show information call (310) 855-7565.
