Here, via email, we hear from actress Jane Carr, who is currently starring in the new Broadway musical A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

What show recently impressed you?
A couple of weeks ago, during tech for A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, I was unexpectedly given an evening off, so I scooted to The American Airlines Theatre to see my old friend Roger Rees in The Winslow Boy. I managed to get a ticket at the very last moment, and I am so very pleased that I did. I knew the play, but this production made me feel I had never seen it before. Beautifully acted and such a terrific story, part social comment, part thriller. Just an excellent evening in the theatre.

What production are you most excited to see?
I've been looking forward to seeing Peter and the Starcatcher for some time, but as I'm based in L.A. and not here in New York, I haven't had the opportunity. I read the piece when it was in its infancy, and it was wonderful then. I played Wendy in a production of Peter Pan many years ago at The Royal Shakespeare Company, and I have loved the story and other stories that are based on the J.M. Barrie book ever since. It touches the child in all of us. Can't wait to see it.

What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
When I grow up, I'd like to play Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd. I do like doing new projects best though.

What are your current/upcoming projects?
On the date of writing this, I am about to open in the musical mentioned above. I play Miss Shingle, and I'm having the most enormous fun. This new musical is such a delight. The story is great, the cast and artistic team are spectacularly talented. The songs are brilliant and the lyrics and book are filled with enormous cleverness and wit. Upcoming is Mrs. Goggins in "Postman Pat the Movie," an animated tale of a postman in an English village.
