What show recently impressed you?
One Man, Two Guvnors was truly the best executed, performed and maintained production that I have seen in many a moon. Phenomenal work on every level. I had never witnessed true commedia and feel fortunate to have now done so.

What production are you most excited to see?
Several. Now being an L.A. resident, I very much want to see Once, An Enemy of the People, Cyrano, Nice Work If You Can Get It and hopefully Book of Mormon before returning to L.A. after my current engagement ends. Any insider help on house seats for Book of Mormon? Looks like my next few upcoming nights off will be busy "busman's holidays."

What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
Looking forward to seeing Cat On a Hot Tin Roof purring its way onto Broadway again this season. I got my feet wet seven years ago in a regional production playing Big Daddy and directed by Marshall Mason. Now that I'm truly age-appropriate, I'd love to have a shot at being steered down the Mississippi once again under the guidance of Rob Ashford.

What are your current/upcoming projects?
I'm so glad to be back in New York and having a blast playing icon Sydney Greenstreet in the New York premiere of Ten Chimneys, a play about the fabulous Lunts, arguably one of America's theatre couples. The Off-Broadway Peccadillo Theater Company at Theatre at St. Clement's is producing the show through Oct. 27, starring Byron Jennings and Carolyn McCormick, and directed by Dan Wackerman.

*** Michael McCarty has been seen on Broadway in To Be or Not to Be, Mary Poppins, Oklahoma!, 42nd Street, Sweeney Todd, Teddy & Alice, Big River, Oliver!, Amadeus, King of Hearts and Dirty Linen & New-Found-Land. Read more about him in the Playbill Vault.
