What show recently impressed you?
Two shows really impressed me last season: Once and Peter and the Starcatcher. I was just blown away by the storytelling and the creativity that was used to tell these two very different but beautiful stories. They both used innovative staging, lighting and the simplest of props to transport the audience into various locations, and I was just mesmerized sitting in the audience at both shows. Plus the casts were just phenomenal. I’m really glad that Once is continuing to do well and that Peter and the Starcatcher found its new home at New World Stages. Everybody go see these two shows now!

What production are you most excited to see?
I cannot wait to see Here Lies Love at The Public Theater! I intend on going this month! As an Asian American actor in this business, it’s rare to have such a successful and powerful show with a majority Asian American cast, and the buzz for the show has spread like wildfire! I am so proud of all my friends in the show and cannot wait to root them on. I’m also very excited to see Matilda, Pippin and, of course, Kinky Boots! There’s so much to see this season!

What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
I have two dream roles that I am trying hard to manifest into reality. The first role I would love to play would be Leo Bloom in The Producers. I relate to his character a lot and think it would be an absolute blast to bring him to life. He’s dorky, vulnerable, sweet, and he gets to sing so many wonderful songs. “I Wanna Be A Producer” is definitely one of my shower songs. My other dream role belongs to the show that introduced me to Broadway: Rent. I have been a Renthead since high school! Besides the powerful messages in the story, the show proved to me that you could have more of a pop/rock sound and still make it onto Broadway. It would be an absolute dream to play the role of Mark, especially since I basically live my life with a video camera attached to my hand (if you’ve ever seen my YouTube channel or all the backstage videos I’ve created).

What are your current/upcoming projects?
I was recently in the world premiere of Stuck Elevator at American Conservatory Theater, and we will be bringing the show to the International Festival of Arts and Sciences in New Haven this [month]. I’m also working on getting my first screenplay “Thank You Next” funded and hopefully into production very soon (if you're a film producer and reading this...please contact me!). I’m also very excited to announce that I will be joining the company of Honeymoon in Vegas at Paper Mill Playhouse this fall! It’s going to be an exciting year, and I am very grateful.
