What show recently impressed you?
The musical I was most recently impressed with was Bonnie & Clyde. I felt they were able to take a story of two "heroes," who were indeed very difficult to love and connect with, and made you understand them through their love for each other. The entire cast was incredibly talented. I felt the direction by Jeff Calhoun was wonderful and, without a doubt it, was some of Frank Wildhorn's best work to date. Quite honestly, I am outraged by the treatment some critics gave the show and Frank, personally. It was utterly unfair, and my heart broke for them just knowing how much work went into it by all involved.

I also enjoyed Venus in Fur and thought Nina Arianda's performance is phenomenal!

What production are you most excited to see?
I'm looking forward to seeing both War Horse and Seminar. The former, because I know it is a beautiful story, and I'm fascinated to see the puppetry. The latter, because I adore Alan Rickman. The musical I'm most excited to see is Porgy and Bess. The music is unbeatable, I've never seen it on stage before, and how could I miss the chance to see my friends Audra McDonald and Norm Lewis, the best of Broadway, together on stage doing what they do best?

What are your current/upcoming projects?
This month on January 28th at 7 PM I'll be performing in Jacques Brel Returns at The Triad, which is a phenomenal evening of Jacques Brel songs. I'm also currently in the studio recording my debut solo album, hopefully to be released the beginning of June. It will be called "The Look of Love," a compilation of jazz and swing standards. I'm extremely excited about it!
