What show recently impressed you?
I saw Evita recently with Christina DeCicco as Eva Peron. She gave an absolute knockout performance in such an iconic role. The set and lighting design is lush and cinematic. Rob Ashford's choreography was smart and electrifying. Everyone danced.

What production are you most excited to see?
Oh, I have a list! Matilda, Flashdance, Kinky Boots, Big Fish, Diner, Bullets Over Broadway, A Christmas Story, Somewhere in Time & Coal Miner's Daughter.

What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
The Who's Tommy really turned me on to Des McAnuff as a director, and I wore that cast recording CD out! I saw the BC/EFA, Actors' Fund reunion benefit concert performed at The August Wilson Theatre a few years ago — blew me away. Brought me to tears. It was like a religious experience. Everyone that night was buzzing about how much they would love to see a revival. I would love to play any role I'm right for in that. There are just certain shows where people say, "I'd play a tree in the up-stage left corner." Tommy is one those shows!

What are your current/upcoming projects?
In the wake of "Sandy," many benefit concerts — working with my fellow Jersey Boys (John Edwards with Courter Simmons at the helm) on one aimed for December, benefiting the Ali Forney Center in Chelsea (housing homeless LGBT youth displaced by their parents), who have suffered severe losses due to the hurricane; another one organized by Marrick Smith set tentatively for Nov. 13, 10 PM at the Laurie Beechman, and an Actors Fund Concert organized by Lee Summers at the Triad on Dec. 12. This week I'm performing with the Edgewater River Rats. Thrilled to be in the company of this great band and in the same lineup with Felicia Finley! Dec. 3, I'm singing with a fierce roster for Broadway Sings Beyonce at Joe's Pub, 9:30 PM. The holiday season is underway, and I feel like the theatrical community is ready to deliver some much-needed glad tidings and good cheer!
