What show recently impressed you?
I took my son to see the Off-Broadway hit, My Name Is Asher Lev. It was a beautiful production, funny, moving, thought-provoking — everything I would want in a play. The performances were extraordinary and the adaptation and direction outstanding. It speaks to the loner, the outcast, being the "different" one, which so many of us can identify with. And even though it centers around a strict, religious Jewish family, the universality of the subject matter shines through. It is a production for everyone, and I highly recommend it. My son also loved it and it sparked some wonderful conversations between us.

What production are you most excited to see?
Right now, the show I'm most excited about is Big Fish. It sounds amazing. I was fortunate to work with Susan Stroman when I played Zangler in the national tour of Crazy for You, so I know firsthand how inventive and thrilling her work can be.

What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
Well, they can always bring back Fiddler  – I got to play Tevye for the first time in a production at Syracuse Stage, and it is a role I would jump back into in a heartbeat! Another show would be Little Shop of Horrors  — I was the last Seymour in the original production at the Orpheum, but this time I'd love to come back and play Mr. Mushnik – now, that would be fun!

What are your current/upcoming projects?
Just recently I recorded the cast album of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, which I'm very excited to hear. I was the Mayor of Whoville in Seussical, so it's great fun to return to the world of the Whos. And I have worked on several independent films, which I've been able to do around my Newsies schedule. It's always good to work in other mediums; keep the creative juices flowing!
