Here, via email, we hear from triple threat Clyde Alves, who is currently starring as Ozzie in the Broadway revival of On the Town at the Lyric Theatre.

What show recently impressed you?
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time was pretty impressive. It was very sharp, tastefully stylized and brilliantly performed by the whole cast.

What production are you most excited to see?
My wife and I love to laugh when we're out on the town together, so I'd have to say Something Rotten! seems like a no brainer. There are a handful of actors I look up to in that company, and then there's Casey Nicholaw's numbers I've been hearing about.

What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
I am asked this question a lot and am always a little stumped... What I'd really like to do is originate a new kind of role on Broadway. I've decided that if Dick Van Dyke and Gene Kelly had a baby, out would come me... I'd love for a new musical to come around with that in mind, and I'd love to play the role of Dick Kelly!

What are your current/upcoming projects?
Well, I'm currently doing the 8-shows-a-week thing as Ozzie in the Broadway revival of On the Town. I'm also preparing a show of my original music at Birdland Jazz Club NYC. That will take place on July 20th!
