FringeNYC is taking a look back at its 15-year history with full stagings, concert presentations and staged readings of some its most well-received productions. The benefit presentations play a 15-week run through Aug. 15.
Here's a list of productions presented:
Urinetown (May 5 at 7 PM). Featuring music and lyrics by Mark Hollmann, book and lyrics by Greg Kotis, the musical debuted at the Fringe in 1999 prior to its Tony-winning Broadway debut. The concert presentation offers highlights from Urinetown and Hollman and Kotis' new musical Yeast Nation.
The Fartiste (May 12 at 9:30 PM). Composer/lyricist Michael Roberts and librettist Charlie Schulman created the musical that premiered in 2006. It will be presented in concert.
Cats Talk Back (May 19 at 9:30 PM). Bess Wohl's play about cast members from Cats giving a tell-all recap of their experiences played the Fringe in 2003. It will receive a full staging. Williamsburg: The Musical (May 26 at 7 PM). Kurt Gellersted, Brooke Fox and Will Brumley penned the musical parody that debuted in 2007. A concert staging will be offered.
South Pathetic (June 2 at 7:30 PM). Jim David's 2010 Fringe work about a North Carolina community theatre production of A Streetcar Named Desire will get a full performance.
The Boys Upstairs (June 9 at 7 PM). Jason Mitchell's 2009 play about the lives and loves of a group of NYC gay men will get a staged reading.
Veritas (June 16 at 7 PM). Stan Richardson's 2010 play based on the true story of a group of young gay men at Harvard University in the 1920's will get a staged reading.
MoM - A Rock Concert (June 23 at 7 PM). Richard Calian's 2009 musical about a group of suburban moms who form a band will receive a concert staging.
The Lightning Field (June 30 at 9 PM). The 2005 drama by David Ozanich traces two young men who travel to the New Mexico desert. A staged reading will take place.
I Was Tom Cruise (July 7 at 7:30 PM). Alexander Poe's satiric 2006 drama, which centers on a young couple who are befriended by the star, will get a staged reading.
Armless (July 14 at 7:30 PM). The 2004 comedy by Kyle Jarrow about an insurance executive who wants to have his arms cut off will receive a staged reading.
The Complete Lost Works Of Samuel Beckett As Found In An Envelope (partially burned) In A Dustbin In Paris Labeled "Never to be performed. Never. Ever. EVER! Or I'll Sue! I'LL SUE FROM THE GRAVE!" (July 21 at 7:30 PM). Greg Allen, Danny Thompson and Ben Schneider's 2006 comedy will get a full performance.
Bridezilla Strikes Back (July 28 at 7:30 PM). The 2005 comedy by Cynthia Silver about her experience on "Bridezillas" will receive a full performance.
The Event (Aug. 4 at 7:30 PM). Matt Oberg will deliver a full performance of the 2009 comedy about being an actor that was penned by FringeNYC co-founder John Clancy.
Dog Sees God (Aug. 11 at 7 PM). Bert V. Royal's acclaimed 2004 comedy about the rocky adolescence of the Peanuts gang will receive a staged reading.
