Nick Rashad Burroughs (Kinky Boots) and Marisha Wallace (Something Rotten!) have teamed up to present Baptized By Broadway live at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York August 28. The cabaret show follows the autobiographical comedic journeys of two preachers’ kids from the South who dreamed of making it on Broadway.

Baptized By Broadway will also feature guest performances by Glee star Alex Newell, Broadway and The Voice star Sasha Allen (Hair), Aisha Jackson (Waitress), Mykal Kilgore (The Wiz: Live) and Tiffany Mann (Lyric Theater’s Dreamgirls).

The show will begin at 8 PM and will detail the highs and lows of growing up in a small town while having big dreams. Alabama native Burroughs moved to New York just over a year ago to make his Broadway debut in Kinky Boots as Lola’s understudy, while Wallace, originally from North Carolina, has performed on Broadway in Aladdin and can currently be seen in Something Rotten!
