News   Stars Lineup for Jamie deRoy & Friends 25th Anniversary Celebration, Benefiting New Actors Fund Initiative

In an evening benefiting the Actors Fund, Tony-winning producer Jamie deRoy will celebrate the 25th anniversary of her variety show, Jamie deRoy & Friends (as well as her birthday), Nov. 9 in New York.

The line-up of guests will include stage legend Tommy Tune, "The View" co-host Joy Behar, singer-songwriter Larry Gatlin and Tony-nominated actress Michele Lee.

The one-night-only concert will take place at Gerald W. Lynch Theater, with proceeds going to the Actors Fund's new program, "The Jamie deRoy & Friends Cabaret Initiative," which will help performers in the cabaret industry seek help for medical needs.

"I was delighted (but not surprised) that Jamie chose to celebrate her milestone birthday by giving back to the community,” said Actors Fund president Joe Benincasa. "Her support and the donation of time and talent from these award winning artists will go to help so many in need in the cabaret world and in our entire entertainment and performing arts community."

Barry Kleinbort will direct, and Ron Abel will serve as musical director for the full stage band.

The cabaret series Jamie DeRoy & Friends, which spotlights a variety of guest performers and celebrities, has been performing in New York for 25 years, serving as the basis for deRoy's cable television show. Tickets for the event start at $75 and can be purchased by calling (212) 221-7300, ext. 133, or visiting ActorsFund. The Gerald W. Lynch Theater is located at John Jay College, 899 10th Ave. at 59th St.
