News Stephen Sondheim's Company Plays Singapore Beginning Nov. 1 Dream World Productions presents the Singapore debut of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth's Company beginning Nov. 1 at the Drama Centre Theatre, National Library Building.

 with choreography by George Chan and musical direction Joel Nah, the cast comprises Tan Kheng Hua (Joanne), Karen Tan (Jenny), Brendon Fernandez (David), Petrina Kow (Amy), Candice de Rozario (Sarah), Ivan Choong (Peter), Matt Grey (Larry), Tim Garner (Paul), Rebecca Spykerman (Susan), Juwanda Hassim (Harry), Mina Kaye (Marta), Glory Ngim (Kathy), Seong Hui Xuan (April) and Peter Ong (Bobby).

"This super-funny musical comedy explores the pros and cons, the ups and downs as well as the ins and outs of being single," according to press notes. "Join our talented cast as they try to persuade our hero, Robert, to do what our Government has been hard selling for years… Get married!"

Performances continue through Nov. 11.

The original production of Company opened on Broadway at the Alvin (now the Neil Simon) Theatre on April 26, 1970. The musical garnered 14 Tony Award nominations (the record until The Producers in 2001), winning six, including Best Musical. The Broadway revival, which starred the Tony-nominated Raul Esparza as the confused bachelor, played 34 previews and 247 performances in 2006-07. This Company won the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Drama League Awards for Best Revival of a Musical.
