News Steppenwolf's Buffalo, with Tracy Letts, to Play McCarter Theatre; Morton Directs The Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of David Mamet's American Buffalo will play New Jersey's McCarter Theatre beginning March 9.

Directed by Amy Morton, the production will officially open March 12 at 8 PM. Performances continue through March 28. The cast boasts Pulitzer Prize and Tony winning-playwright Tracy Letts, who penned August: Osage County, which featured Morton. The cast will also feature John Judd and Patrick Andrews.

"In this story of a penetrating battle of friendship versus business," press notes state, "loyalty is tested as three small-time crooks plot the midnight robbery of a buffalo nickel. A biting critique of capitalism and inflated valuation from Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet, American Buffalo is a menacing, humorous and philosophical masterpiece."
