News Steve Carrell Replaces Broadway-Bound Bruce Willis in Woody Allen Film Comic actor Steve Carrell has been tapped to replace Bruce Willis in Woody Allen's forthcoming untitled new movie, according to Deadline Hollywood.

As reported previously, conflicting schedules forced Willis to choose between two tantalizing career opportunities: his Broadway debut in Stephen King's Misery or his first starring role in an Allen film.

Allen's film will also feature Kristen Stewart, Stephen Kunken, Jesse Eisenberg, Blake Lively, Parker Posey, Jeannie Berlin, Corey Stoll, Ken Stott, Anna Camp, Sari Lennick and Paul Schneider.

No other details have been revealed for the feature film, including the 2016 release date. Shooting is scheduled to take place in New York and Los Angeles.

Willis is scheduled to appear on Broadway this season in a 16-week engagement of the play Misery,, based on Stephen King's horror best-seller, which begins previews Oct. 22 and opens Nov. 15. With rehearsals, that would have left too narrow a window for Allen to complete shooting. Oscar winner Allen was recently represented on screen by the new film "Irrational Man."
