Steve Martin’s Meteor Shower, Starring Amy Schumer, Racking Up Healthy Advance
Tony winner Laura Benanti will also star in the new comedy, which arrives on Broadway in November.
In the first two days since tickets went on sale for the Broadway production of Steve Martin's Meteor Shower, the box office has taken in a healthy $1 million, according to the New York Post.
Emmy winner Amy Schumer and Tony winner Laura Benanti will appear in Martin’s comedy on Broadway this fall. The two will be joined by Keegan-Michael Key (currently Off-Broadway in Hamlet) and Alan Tudyk.
Performances will begin November 1 at the Booth Theatre, where it is set to officially open November 29. Tony winner Jerry Zaks (currently represented on Broadway with Hello, Dolly!) will direct.
The play received its world premiere at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego before going on to play New Haven, Connecticut's Long Wharf Theatre.

Schumer received an Outstanding Variety Sketch Series Emmy for Inside Amy Schumer—she has also been twice nominated for her performance on the show. Her film credits include a Golden Globe-nominated performance in Trainwreck, as well as Snatched and the upcoming I Feel Pretty.
This will mark the Broadway debuts of both Schumer and Key, though the latter is currently making his New York stage debut as Horatio in the Public Theater's Oscar Isaac-led Hamlet. He can also be seen on the Netflix comedy series Friend from College, the USA comedy Playing House, and the Emmy-winning Key and Peele, which he co-created with Jordan Peele.
Benanti was last seen on Broadway in the Roundabout Theatre Company revival of
She Loves Me and is currently touring the country with her solo show
Tales from Soprano Isle. Her additional credits include
Gypsy, for which she won a Tony Award, as well as Tony-nominated turns in Broadway's
Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown,
Into the Woods, and
Swing!
Tudyk recently starred in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story as K-2SO. He previously appeared on Broadway in Prelude to a Kiss, Spamalot, and Epic Proportions. He has lent his voice to myriad animated features, including Wreck-It Ralph, Frozen, and Moana.
Set in Ojai, California, the comedy follows married couple Corky (Schumer) and Norm (Tudyk), who invite another couple—Laura (Benanti) and Gerald (Key) over for dinner. Soon, the two couples launch into ruthless Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?-esque psychological warfare—the fury of which is matched only by the space rocks falling above them.
Meteor Shower will be produced on Broadway by Joey Parnes, Sue Wagner, and John Johnson. The staging will feature sets by Beowulf Borritt, costumes by Ann Roth, lighting design by Natasha Katz, and sound design by Fitz Patton. Casting is by David Caparelliotis.
