Picasso at the Lapine Agile, Steve Martin's comic play, opens Charlotte Repertory Theatre's season at the Booth Theatre, Sept. 16-27. The popular comedy follows the chance meeting of physicist Albert Einstein and artist Pablo Picasso in a small French cafe at the turn of the century. Both try to pick up the same pretty girl, and the result is a comical debate between the two men about the nature of true genius.

Steve Umberger, principal founder and artistic director of Charlotte Rep, directs.
