New York actor Josh Young plays Che opposite Chilina Kennedy as Eva in Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Evita, about Argentine political icon Eva Peron. It is Stratford's first rock musical. Griffin directed last summer's Stratford production of West Side Story, which featured Kennedy as Maria. Young toured as Marius in Les Miserables.

Juan Chioran (Broadway and touring Kiss of the Spider Woman) plays Argentina's President Juan Peron. This marks Chioran's 11th season at Stratford. He has appeared there as Don Quixote in The Man of La Mancha, and many classical roles.

Vince Staltari makes his Stratford debut as Magaldi in Evita, for which Tracey Flye is the choreographer and Rick Fox is the musical director.

Hughes, Monique Lund, Lorena Mackenzie, Josie Marasco, Jennifer Rider-Shaw, Steve Ross, Jaz Sealey, Julius Sermonia, Kristian Truelsen and Rudy Webb.

Evita runs in rep until Oct. 30. The Stratford repertory season continues in rep to Oct. 31 on four stages.

The Evita principals are cross-cast in the Festival's 2010 production of Kiss Me, Kate, the backstage musical about a musical version of The Taming of the Shrew. Tony Award winner John Doyle directs. Previews began at the Festival Theatre April 10. The production opened June 8 and runs until Oct. 30.
