News Streetcar Added to Barrington's 2009 Season Schedule The classic Tennessee Williams drama A Streetcar Named Desire will be part of the 2009 season at the Barrington Stage Company in Pittsfield, MA.

As previously announced, the theatre company, which is currently presenting a stage version of To Kill a Mockingbird through Oct. 26, will kick off its 2009 Mainstage season with Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel. Artistic director Julianne Boyd will direct the beloved musical, which will run June 17, 2009-July 11, 2009. Joshua Bergasse will choreograph the production with musical direction by Darren R. Cohen. Song titles include "June Is Bustin' Out All Over," "If I Loved You" and "You'll Never Walk Alone." Williams' sexually charged Streetcar will be presented Aug. 6-23, 2009. Streetcar won the 1948 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

A third mainstage production, running July 16-Aug. 1, will be announced in early 2009.
