Autographed memorabilia from a plethora of theatre stars will be available at the Nov. 2 "Star Auction" to benefit the non-profit educational arts organization DreamWrights.
Among the celebrities who have donated items to the auction — at Pennsylvania's Horticulture Hall York Expo Center — are Julie Harris, Nathan Lane, Lynn Redgrave, James Earl Jones, Barbra Streisand, Madonna, Mary Tyler Moore, Elizabeth Taylor, Joan Rivers, Louise Pitre, Steve Blanchard, Carol Burnett and Florence Henderson. Some of the more interesting items include Blanchard's Beauty and the Beast gloves-with-claw; an Into the Woods cast recording signed by the entire cast; the script for the "Chuckles Bites the Dust" episode of "Mary Tyler Moore," signed by the Emmy-winning actress; and autographed Playbills from several Broadway musicals.
A preview of the auction begins at 11 AM at The York Expo Center, which is located in York, Pennsylvania, at 334 Carlisle Avenue. The actual auction is scheduled for noon. For those unable to attend, items may be bid on via the DreamWrights website.
The mission of DreamWrights Youth & Family Theatre is "to provide an environment which fosters and inspires growth, responsibility, and creativity in people of all ages and cultures through a broad theatre arts program."
