News "Stuff Like That There": Marriott Theatre to Debut For the Boys Stage Musical The 1991 World War II-set film "For the Boys," which starred James Caan and Bette Midler, will make its musical stage debut at the Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire, IL, in 2011.

Aaron Thielen adapted the film, which will be directed and choreographed by Marc Robin. For the Boys will run Aug. 17-Oct. 16, 2011.

Centering on big-band singer Dixie Leonard and entertainer Eddie Sparks, For the Boys charts the relationship of the two performers during the 1940's USO tour. Tony Award nominee Marshall Brickman (Jersey Boys, Addams Family) penned the screenplay to the film along with Neal Jimenez and Lindy Laub.

Midler earned an Academy Award nomination for starring in the film that includes such songs as "P.S. I Love You," "Stuff Like That There," "Come Rain or Come Shine" and "In My Life." The stage musical will include songs from three decades of American popular music of the WWII era.

The Marriott Theatre season will open with Frank Loesser's Guys and Dolls, running Jan. 26-March 27, 2011. Matt Raftery will direct and choreograph. Following will be the classic showbiz musical 42nd Street March 30-Mary 29, directed by Rachel Rockwell and choreographed by Tammy Mader.

Rockwell will also stage the 1960's musical revue Shout! June 15-Aug. 14. The final production of the season will be White Christmas, which will run Oct. 16-Jan. 1, 2012. Marc Robin will direct and choreograph. For season subscription information phone (847) 634-0200. Visit MarriottTheatre.
