Off-Broadway News Submit Your Short New Musicals to Baayork Lee’s NAAP DISCOVER Project The National Asian Artists Project will give shows a cast, director, and a New York production.

The National Asian Artists Project, Baayork Lee’s organization designed to showcase Asian-American performers, is seeking scripts and scores of short new stage musicals for its sixth annual DISCOVER: New Musicals series in New York City.

Winners will be presented in early December readings, performed by NAAP actors. NAAP also provides a director, stage manager, musical director, rehearsal space, and a New York venue. Lee was awarded this year’s Isabel Stevenson Award from the Tony Award for community service for her work with the NAAP.

Submissions will be accepted until September 8 at 5 PM. Those interested in submitting can download the one-page application at NAAProject.org/2017-discover. Mail the completed application with three copies of your script (if submission for consideration is an excerpt, then submit only the excerpt) and three demo CDs of the piece with vocals.
