Playbill.com recently posed two questions to award-winning composer Stephen Schwartz, who was celebrated Aug. 23 at the John Anson Ford Theatre in Hollywood, CA.

Schwartz was asked, "What is the latest on the Wicked film?" and "Will you write for Broadway again?" About the former, the composer of Godspell, Pippin and The Baker's Wife answered, "No firm plans or date. No director or anything else set. Still in the talking stage." Schwartz's response to the latter: "I've learned never to say never."

Schwartz is also the author of the new opera Séance on a Wet Afternoon, which Opera Santa Barbara will premiere Sept. 26 at the Grenada with additional performances on Oct. 2 and 4.
