Classic Stage Company and Transport Group's Off-Broadway revival of Tennessee Williams’ Summer and Smoke has been extended and will now continue performances at CSC through May 25. The production began performances April 13 and opened to positive reviews May 3.

Set in turn-of-the-century Mississippi, Summer and Smoke tells the story of a local minister’s daughter, played by Tony nominee Marin Ireland, and her relationship with the neighborhood doctor who grew up next door, played by House of Cards actor Nathan Darrow.

The limited engagement was previously scheduled to play through May 20.

Transport Group Artistic Director Jack Cummings III directs a cast completed by Glenna Brucken as Rosemary, Phillip Clark as Dr. Buchanan, Sr., Hannah Elless as Nellie Ewell, Elena Hurst as Rosa Gonzales, Tina Johnson as Mrs. Bassett, Gerardo Rodriguez as Papa Gonzales, T. Ryder Smith as Reverend Winemiller, Ryan Spahn as Archie Kramer, Jonathan Spivey as Roger Doremus, and Barbara Walsh as Mrs. Winemiller.
